Why there is no sanctions screening here. This site holds 1,194 OpenSanctions matches, and none of them is publishable. Most say only that a member of Congress appears in a database of members of Congress. The rest are name collisions against US contractor and Medicaid exclusion lists, which record a name and nothing else — no date of birth, no identifier — so there is no way to tell a hit from a coincidence. The three that cleared every other filter turned out to be a different John James, a different Juan Vargas, and a garbled spelling of Rand Paul. Screening will come back when the matcher can check a second identifier.
